Monkey-Mind

At the end of retreat, yogis leave all sorts of things behind as they adjust to the change of pace and ready for the world of the house-holder again. We have a lost items box in the office, and if we can’t locate their owner after a certain time, they go into the hall cupboard for other yogis to borrow as necessary, or are given to charity.

Most recently we found this lovely hand-knitted monkey, who has been sitting keeping us company in the staff-room, listening to staff conversations (without judgement), getting a cuddle or two, but surely wanting to be back with his/her/their owner. Are they yours? Contact the office at office@bmimc.org.au and we’ll pop them in a post-bag (with air-holes, of course, we’re not monsters!) and send them home for a happy reunion.

Update: Stop Press! We found Monkey’s owner! One of our lovely volunteers who used to live onsite, Lochkey, came by to volunteer for Sayalay Bhaddamanika’s retreat recently and went ‘Hey! There’s my monkey!’ While very pleased to see each other, Monkey is going to stay on at BMIMC, so if you need a midnight confidant, they’ll be hanging out somewhere around the staffroom.
